ITAMMA being the Oldest & largest Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers’ Association accredited by NABET with “ DIAMOND Grade ” at “National level” takes off for an Eagle jump in the Global Market after bagging the most prestigious 4th Award for Responsible Indian BMOs under the category of ‘Environment Responsibility’ at the national level, competing 145 Industry Associations at National, State, District and State levels from 19 States after serving the Indian Textile Industry for valuable 75 years, with 450 members from all sectors of the textile engineering industry.

The talks are in progress with Consulates of Vietnam and Indonesia for the development of ITAMMA Service and Training Centres in Vietnam & Indonesia jointly with the International Associations viz. VINATEX, VITAS, INCHAM, API, of those countries. MOU’s signed with IRAN Textile Association, TEMSAD, ITMF for spreading our services in these countries.

Under the Business Promotion initiatives for Members, ITAMMA has been participating in International Exhibitions in major textile centres abroad, for interaction of members with the user industry to showcase their latest developments, capability, product range and international presence of the Indian TEI, to understand the user needs and changing requirements, develop contacts and relationships with reputed mills and also organizes Networking Dinners for closer interaction between members and senior executives and entrepreneurs from the user industry. – all at a very affordable, low participation cost under innovative schemes in Exhibitions like DTG in Bangladesh, Indo Intertex in Indonesia, VTG in Vietnam, Irantex in Iran, Shanghiatex in China, and all ITMA Exhibitions where ITAMMA is welcomed as a Supporting Association (video clips of International Exhibitions and photos of ITAMMA Pavilion &stalls in different countries)The Indian textile industry’s demand for machinery and parts is about Rs. 15,000 crores annually, nearly 70% of which is imported. The textile engineering industry (TEI) produces about Rs. 6500 crores worth of products while operating at about 65% capacity utilization; 25% of this annual output is exported. In order to achieve the goal of MAKE IN INDIA by serving 65% (instead of current 30%) of the industry’s demand through indigenously produced machinery by 2025, the TEI has to increase its production more than four times in eight years to Rs 28,000 with exports at 25% being worth Rs. 7000 crores. To help the Indian TEI to be ready to achieve this goal, ITAMMA had strengthened its wings at PAN India with its VISION of “Towards Making Indian Textile Industry A World Leader” by implementing various Technical & Technological activities and thus promoting Make in India, Skill India & Start up India initiatives of Govt. of India (Video clips and photos of the events and the brochures front page of the schemes of Govt. of India)

ITAMMA plays a critical role in helping its members in Building the competitiveness and scale of TEI by transforming themselves from small, owner managed and low technology suppliers into fast growing, innovative, high technology and global players that meet the requirements of their clients through offering state-of-the art solutions instead of older technology, reasonable but inconsistent quality and slow response in terms of deliveries and service.

Realizing the importance of Technology and Innovations (change) in today’s Smart & Digital Manufacturing followed by Responsible Manufacturing, being the mantra for sustainable growth in the Today’s Global Challenging Market, ITAMMA has focused these activities specifically at the prime Textile Engineering Clusters of India at Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Panipat under the cluster development initiatives like LEAN Management, TPM, ZERO DEFECT ZERO EFFECT ( ZED certification), 5S, Design developments. (Video clips and photos of the events and at the background invitation cards of the event)

In order to boost R&D efforts in TEI, we have reframed the concept of Common Facility Centres Scheme of the government (CFC) into Centres of Excellence ( CoE) in four textile centres of India viz at Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Maharashtra and Panipat jointly with Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore; IIT Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, NMIMS, Shirpur, and PIET, Panipat as knowledge partners, by using the existing R&D infrastructure available with existing institutions and use the CoEs to facilitate conceptualization and implementation for projects, training of technical staff of manufacturers, organizing workshops and seminars, facilitation in obtaining government subsidies for projects, etc. They will also facilitate trials and feedback from user industry to enable rapid commercialization.

Also technical sessions with PUM Netherlands Experts from different categories and which are further supported by “Training Programme on Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt Certificate” at Ahmedabad on 29th June’ 2018.

Practical demonstrations through technical visit to M/s. Gold Seal – SAARGUMMI India Pvt. Ltd., and M/s. SKF Technologies (India) Pvt. Ltd., at Ahmedabad were organized on 19th January, 2018; giving an opportunity to the Members to learn and understand the various important aspects related to 5S, Lean, Smart Manufacturing along with good practices as well as importance of Safety measures.

ITAMMA is regularly disseminating these information’s to the Indian TEI through the series of quarterly print publications “ITAMMA Voice” each being specifically based on the theme of “Operational Excellence,” “Going Green- Responsible Manufacturing” and “Brand India.” (Video clips and photos of each ITAMMA Voice front page and in background turning of pages of the magazine)To promote the concept of innovation ecosystem, ITAMMA took the initiative to organize Workshops on “Creating an Eco-system for innovations & technology development in Textile industry” at various textile clusters which received overwhelming response, active participation and valuable suggestions from the Mills, Machinery and parts manufacturers, Consultants, Academicians & Govt. bodies.

Knowing the importance of Young Entrepreneurs handling their business effectively and efficiently in this Robotic and Digi World of industry 4.0 manufacturing and 3D Printing, ITAMMA has formed a “Youth Wing” to address and overcome the generation gap of technology among the Members
